Partners for National Development Nigeria (PNDN) is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-partisan organisation committed to promoting accountable governance, responsible leadership, citizen participation and sustainable national development in Nigeria.
We believe that better governance begins with informed citizens, credible evidence, responsible public leadership and meaningful participation.
PNDN provides independent platforms for researching public opinion, assessing governance and public-service performance, engaging citizens, analysing public policy, and recognising documented excellence in public service. Our work is designed to provide citizens, institutions, researchers, policymakers, the media and other stakeholders with credible information that contributes to informed public dialogue and national development.
Nigeria’s development depends not only on government institutions, but also on citizens who are informed, engaged and able to participate meaningfully in public affairs.
PNDN seeks to strengthen this relationship by creating platforms where citizens can be heard, evidence can be examined, governance can be assessed, and excellence in public service can be recognised.
Our work covers issues that directly affect the lives of Nigerians, including public services, infrastructure, healthcare, education, economic development, employment, social development, accountability, transparency, innovation and citizen-centred governance.
Citizen participation and access to meaningful feedback mechanisms are also recognised as important elements of improving government responsiveness and public-service delivery in Nigeria.
We conduct evidence-based assessments of government programmes, projects, institutions and public-service delivery.
Our assessments consider available government data and documents, programme outcomes, independent research, citizen experiences and other relevant evidence.
We provide platforms through which citizens can express their views on governance, public policy and issues affecting their communities and the country.
Our research may include public opinion polls, surveys, interviews, focus groups and other research methods. We believe that published research should provide sufficient methodological information for readers to understand how findings were obtained.
We undertake research into governance, public administration, leadership, development and public policy.
Our research outputs may include reports, policy briefs, issue papers, governance studies, citizen experience reports and other publications.
We recognise documented contributions and excellence in public service through transparent assessment and recognition programmes.
Our approach emphasises clearly defined criteria, evidence, verification and an independent assessment process.
We create opportunities for citizens to participate in surveys, consultations, public forums, research activities and other civic engagement initiatives.
Our goal is to ensure that citizen experiences and perspectives form part of conversations about governance and national development.
We do not promote, endorse or oppose political parties or candidates.
Our assessments, research, polling, publications and recognition programmes are guided by objectivity, evidence, transparency, fairness, credibility and the public interest.
Where we assess public officials, government institutions or public programmes, our focus is on documented performance, evidence and measurable outcomes rather than political affiliation.
This principle is particularly important for public opinion research: poll results should be understood as time-specific observations of respondents’ views, with methodology and limitations made clear to readers.
PNDN is committed to building a trusted platform where citizens’ voices matter, evidence matters and public service performance matters.
Through research, citizen engagement, governance assessment and recognition of excellence, we seek to contribute constructively to Nigeria’s continuing development.
